"Injecting high viscous drugs: Interaction of the needle and its features"

Maintaining reasonable injection times of high viscous drug products while not increasing needle gauge, has led to the application of the different type of thin walled needles. Changing the needle features can lead to undesired side effects, such as coring and lower needle mechanical resistance, if not taken into consideration from an early stage.

This poster intends to demonstrate the outcome of a series of studies that characterized the co-relations of specific needle morphological features and the interaction of these when pierced into rubber closure components.
