Sustainability represents one of the key goals Stevanato Group is committed to achieve. We believe our challenge and opportunity is to continue to grow and support our customers through regenerative business innovation in everything we do.
With this Life Cycle Perspective mindset, we are proud to announce that our plant in Germany received the ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) PLUS certification for circular and bio-circular plastics, the independent sustainability certification along the entire supply chain, after a successful audit by TUEV SUED Industrie Service GmbH – applying the ISCC PLUS Mass Balance approach.
Julia Dohm, Compliance Manager in Germany, said:
“ISCC is a globally recognized certification system for recycled and bio-circular materials that ensures compliance with environmental and social standards. To ensure this, checks are carried out at every point in a supply chain to establish integrity and clear evidence of sustainable materials. For us it is one way to support customers in both achieving their sustainability goals and another step made towards the development of a truly circular economy.”
One of the first important steps toward meeting SG’s sustainability goals and achieving true circularity is the ISCC mass balance certification – our German plant has selected this approach for its Sustainability certification. Mass balance requires volume reconciliation to ensure the exact amount of input (circular / bio-circular plastic) is correlated with the amount of output material.
Here there are some other comments of our colleagues on this important achievement:
"The achievement of this certification is an important step in enhancing our products portfolio as we broaden our solutions towards sustainable development. We are constantly working with our customers to satisfy their needs, as we continue to experience an increase in demand for innovative solutions that also reduce the environmental impact".
Paolo Patri, Chief Technology Officer
